I’m pissed off that they didn’t air Gabriel Gonzaga vs Chris Tuchscherer. I read about the epic ballblast and then the TKO afterwards. Apparently there was a ridiculous lowblow perpetrated by Gabriel Gonzaga that had everyone dying on the floor grabbing their testicles in agony from just watching it.
That being said, I forgot to post my picks on my blog, but I did ok.
I picked Couture Vs Noguiera (I picked Noguiera via sub R2).
KRZYSZTOF SOSZYNSKI VS. BRANDON VERA (I picked Vera R.2 KO via Kick)
DEMIAN MAIA VS. NATE MARQUARDT (I picked Demian Maia R.2 Submission)
JAKE ROSHOLT VS. CHRIS LEBEN (I picked Rosholt R.2 TKO via strikes)
THIAGO SILVA VS. KEITH JARDINE ( I picked Silva R.1 KO via Punches)
AARON SIMPSON VS. ED HERMAN (I picked Simpson R.1 TKO via strikes)
CHRIS TUCHSCHERER VS. GABRIEL GONZAGA (I picked Gonzaga R.1 KO via Kick)
MIKE RUSSOW VS. JUSTIN McCULLY (I picked Russow R.2 Sub via N/S Anaconda Choke)
I didn’t really care about the other fights.
I went to go watch the fights with James, Chris, and Brent in grapevine. We proceeded to get pretty hammered that night. It was a good night overall.
Let’s change gears to K-1
Good lord, it seems like K-1 is blowing their load a little early on matchups World GP F-16. They still have Finals and New Years Eve matchups to choose (superfights etc). Here is the event info: http://bit.ly/3aNQD
Here are the matchups if you didn’t watch the vid:
Melvin Manhoef vs. Remy Bonjasky <—– OMG. Remy won the first one, but can melvin win this time? Remy had him on the floor a lot of the time from kicks. A kick finally took melvin out. I think Melvin is just too short to take out Remy.
Jerome LeBanner vs. Musashi <—– LeBanner for the win. He beat Musashi last time via KO in the second round VERY convincingly.
Daniel “SUPER ROOKIE” Ghita vs. Semmy Schilt <— This is like Brock Lesnar fighting Randy Couture for the title in his 3rd fight. Ghita is absolutely devastating though. I have a feeling Semmy Schilt will need new knees after this. I pick Daniel Ghita. Win by TKO (leg kicks or liver kick) (hahahahhaha @ the k-1 video calling Daniel Ghita “SUPER ROOKIE”. K-1 is going to be pissed off when Ghita pulls the upset. He literally walked his way through all of his opponents so far in the GP.
Peter Aerts vs. Alistair Overeem <— 
DEMOLITION MAN!!! Unfortunately Overeem can’t throw elbows in this. I still pick him to win. Peter Aerts can’t handle Overeem.
Bader Hari vs. Zabit Samedov <—- BADR F’IN HARI. That’s all I need to say about that.
Ruslan Karaev vs Kyotaro Fujimoto (Keijiro Maeda) <— KARAEV. This was a tough choice but I see Ruslan Karaev pulling out the win over Kyotaro because he’s just that much better. And he doesn’t come in to the ring wearing dresses and shit.
Glaube Feitosa vs. Errol Zimmerman <— Glaube with the Kyokushin FTW! I know he lost the first fight, but I don’t see errol pulling the repeat on this. Glaube’s headkicks will win it for him.
Ewerton Teixiera vs. Singh “Heart” Jaideep <—- I’m going to have to pick the Heart pulling the upset in this one. I know, this is a bad pick, and I wouldn’t bet this way unless you are going for the underdog payout. I see a lot more potential in this guy than most people do. He would learn a lot if he just flew up to holland and kicked it (literally lol) with some of the locals.
Anyway, those are my K-1 Picks. TUNE IN to hdnet on sept 16th at like 1-2am and watch live, (unless those assholes delay it until friday >:( ) I’ll have it on the TV at work hopefully.
